The 6th Annual Scary Toy Contest

September 15th - October 31st 2025

Hello Kiddies!

It's That Time of Year Again!

We have made some great additions to this years Contest!

In the past, we have had many contestants submit images of their scary toy, reaching as far as the United Kingdom.

So we have added 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner prizes to make our contest more exciting!

This years Scary Toy Contest theme is inspired by "My Pet Monster."

As a child of the 1980's, I remember My Pet Monster AKA "Monster" because it was big, unique, and had a certain "adorable terror" factor.

Due to the toy's large size and breakaway chains, it made this monster toy stand out!

But the amusement did not stop there!

The monster's design, while somewhat scary, was also appealing to kids' fascination with the "scary stuff" in a safe way.

Following the release of our hair-raising friend, an animated series made its debut on December 19th, 1987.

Soon after, other characters emerged with brightly colored fur and unorthodox names like Gwonk, Wogster, and Rark.

Thank you developer Peter Sauder, and AM Toys for giving us My Pet Monster, and for this years Scary Toy Contest Theme!

The Scary Toy Contest kicks off on September 15th and ends on October 31, 2025 Halloween at 12 o'clock Midnight!

To Enter The Contest, Follow These Easy Steps!

1. With extreme caution, venture into your attic, basement, closest, or shed, and take out your scary toy that gives you the heebie-jeebies!
2. Snap a crisp clean photo
3. Email your photo with info to yesteryearfunland@aol.com.

Official Entry Rules
No purchases are required to enter!
1. You must be 18 years of age and older to enter.
2. One (1) toy per person.
3. Your toy can be anything!
4. No photos of inappropriate toys and/or gore.
Definition: Gore, blood that has been shed, especially as a result of violence.
5. Toy can be homemade or store bought.
6. Toy can be from any decade.
7. Your toy can have eyes that open & close, eyes that glow, talk, sing, dance, have hair or no hair, teeth or no teeth, jump, bounce, float, and posses wheels.
8. All entries must be submitted to yesteryearfunland@aol.com. In the subject line type Toy For 6th Annual Scary Toy Contest.
9. Share a brief description of your toy. Including: A name of your toy if available, how you obtained it, how long you had it, and any scary stories you might have about your toy. Please include your first & last name and your state initials at the end of your email. Example: Paul Smith, MA
10. All entries must be submitted before 12 o'clock midnight on October 31, 2025.
11. All winners will be notified via email on the morning of November 1, 2025.
Please note:
If winners do not respond within 24 hours to claim their winnings by 12 o'clock midnight on November 2, 2024, a new winner will be selected.
All entries will be shared on Yesteryear Funland's & Shawn Butler personal Instagram, Threads, Bluesky, and Facebook page.
